From the Winemaker: Dr. Sherry Seston

My journey to Veritas Estate was driven by a commitment to craft world-class wines right here in the heart of the Lake Michigan Shore AVA. After 20 years in academia, I traded the classroom and laboratory bench for the vineyard in 2018, dedicating myself to this beautiful, challenging craft.

Our philosophy is centered on creating European-style dry wines using the finest grapes grown in our distinct terroir.

My background deeply informs every vintage and every wine: my Ph.D. in Environmental Microbiology and Chemistry allows me to bring a precise, scientific understanding to the vineyard and the cellar, ensuring a pure and balanced expression from soil to bottle. This rigorous approach is complemented by the training I received through the Wine & Spirits Education Trust of London (WSET), which gave me a deep understanding of global winemaking techniques and styles and guides my instinct for the ultimate potential of each wine.

We have intentionally chosen diverse—and sometimes unusual—grape varieties, such as Blaufränkisch and Tannat. We believe these selections highlight the incredible depth and unique character that the Lake Michigan Shore is capable of producing.

We invite you to explore our wine list and vintage descriptions to discover a unique expression of our region.
